there have been those days where nothing,
Could awaken me to anything.
There have been those days where everything,
Awakened me to something.
And there has been a time when only you,
Was all I could see through the fog.
The unclear nights I spent alone,
Searching with wary eyes for some becon of hope,
A ray of light to which I could grasp,
And travel at it's speed into the future and see what's instore,
For you, and me, and anyone else,
Or if I will still love you, as you love me,
Or if you'll remember me, the way I remember you.
But you've stood like that of a lighthouse,
Never to guide me home, if only to keep me safe,
At my distance out to see, you watch over me,
Led by your light, I make my way through the bay of life,
But there have been those days,
Where nothing seemed to work, and nothing did work,
And I lost you deep within the fog.
Those days are rare, but there they have been,
They are the foundation upon which you are rooted,
They will be there for some time to come,
But I'm not so sure that I will be putting around,
Floating in these same waters.
I think perhaps it's coming to my time to head out to sea,
Where the water is rough, at least, rough enough to sink a boat this large.

I like the repeated theme of the fog, and I think the imagery of the last... oh, six lines or so is lovely. If I may offer my opinion, I'd like to see some more done with those themes of 1) the boat and the ocean, and with 2) the foundation you mention, because those seem as though they might tie in very well to the fog and lighthouse repetitions above. I understand a lot of it is implicit, but turning it out in metaphor would be kind of cool, to me at least.
Foundation, especially, as something that opposes the unsteady idea of water below you on a boat.

Care to elaborate more upon that? I like where it's going, but I could use a bit more to understand better...

sure thing hanny-cabanny,
you see,
was in that sentence defies english
language law. when using you it would
be best had you opted for were,
since, technically, you can be seen
as both singular and plural.
let me know if this helps.
yours in the know,
